Support the Twain House
by Beth Miller, Director of Development | beth.miller@marktwainhouse.org
Your donation to The Mark Twain House & Museum, has a major impact on our ability to preserve this beautiful home and welcome thousands of visitors each year. Here is just a small sampling of how your membership or donation creates a lasting impact:
This year, we will resume restoration of the Mahogany Room, a guest room off of the Clemens’ library. |

In order to continue our initiative to “green” our operations and create financial efficiency, solar panels will be installed on the roof of the museum and we will continue energy improvements in The House.
We will create new and exciting programs and expand our popular events, such as our Ghost Tours and concerts by artists such as The Ebony Hillbillies from New York City.
Continue presenting world-class lectures and readings by best-selling authors such as Wally Lamb and distinguished Twain scholars such as Kerry Driscoll and Laura Skandera-Trombley.
Community events such as free days for Hartford residents and Tom Sawyer Day.
Exhibits that bring to life the themes of Mark Twain's life in Hartford and his work, such as our Twain Centennial year Legacy exhibit.
As the eminently quotable Mark Twain once said, "The lack of money is the root of all evil." With your support we can ensure that The Mark Twain House & Museum continues to thrive as a dynamic community organization that mobilizes the lessons of the past for the benefit of future generations.
